About MKS
Supporting music education of the highest quality
The Manitoba Kodály Society gratefully acknowledges that our activities take place on traditional territories of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene people and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. In the spirit of reconciliation, we offer our gratitude and respect to the original inhabitants of this land and to all Indigenous Peoples who call Manitoba home.
Kodály pedagogy seeks to develop students’ voices, ears, hearts, and minds, while developing the learner’s musical and cultural understanding using an active, sequential approach to music making. Through leadership, mentorship, and professional development in the music education philosophy inspired by Zoltan Kodály, MKS strives to be a support for the music educators in Manitoba.
MKS is proud to be a partner-group of the Manitoba Music Educators’ Association, an organization dedicated to providing a united voice for music education in Manitoba.
