REGISTRATION OPENS JUNE 1!
Music Conference Alberta is thrilled to welcome music teachers, choral conductors, band directors, and studio instructors from across the province to Studio Bell, Calgary Central Library, and the Hilton Garden Inn from 24-26 October 2019 for three action-packed days of professional development.
Delegates will attend interest sessions, concerts, masterclasses, open rehearsals and rehearsal labs, and will take part in interactive panel discussions and one-on-one sessions.
The MCA Marketplace will provide an opportunity for delegates to browse and purchase product, meet industry representatives, and learn about upcoming travel and fundraising opportunities.
A series of social functions will provide an arena for delegates to network with their peers and to meet their colleagues from across the province.
Introduction to Elementary Music Pedagogy which offers the basics to teach kindergarten,
grade 1 and to set the foundations for grade 2 and grade 3 music programs.
A Kodály inspired music program that uses age appropriate singing, games, dancing, exploration of basic percussion instruments to allow the students to grow sequentially in their musical skills, knowledge of music and ability to perform as a group, create and improvise.
As a part of the Kodály Levels programs at the U of A, the AKA is proud to present a full day workshop on First Nations Music in a Kodály Context presented by Sherryl Sewepagaham. This workshop is free for AKA members, but you must be a member to attend! Please register in advance.
