Join KSC The Kodály Society of Canada supports its membership in many ways. Regional and national conferences and workshops provide leadership in materials, curriculum, research and excellence in teaching as well as an opportunity for musician-educators across Canada to meet with their peers to discuss ideas and exchange information. Alla Breve, our bi-annual publication, contains articles detailing current research in music education, pertinent items relating to music and education and information of interest to musician-educators, as well as news from Kodály branches across the country. KSC provides a united voice of music educators from across Canada to serve as an advocate for quality music education programs in Canadian schools. Through Alla Breve, emailed notices and the members of the Council, information about Kodály-based workshops, summer courses and graduate study opportunities is passed on to members. KSC serves as a liaison to music organizations within Canada such as the Canadian Music Educators’ Association http://www.cmea.ca/ and Orff Canada http://www.orffcanada.ca/, and other organizations outside of Canada such as the Organization of American Kodály Educators https://oake.org/default.aspx, the International Kodály Society http://www.iks.hu/ and the International Society for Music Education http://www.isme.org/. Several Canadians have traveled to Hungary to study over the past 40 years, many as recipients of scholarships offered through a cultural exchange between the Canadian and Hungarian governments. KSC supports and encourages these Canadians in their endeavors.
